Cookie Policy
Welcome to ScrollStrike. ScrollStrike is built and maintained under FegoPics, an independent developer profile run by a solopreneur. We believe in keeping things simple, clear, and honest. We do not use sneaky ad-tracking cookies, behavioral surveillance pixels, or marketing spyware.
1. What Are Cookies & Local Storage?
Cookies and local browser storage are small pieces of data saved by your web browser on your computer or mobile device. They help websites remember basic choices—like keeping you logged into an account or remembering simple interface preferences.
2. Zero Invasive Tracking on Our Website
- No Advertising Pixels: We do not use marketing trackers such as the Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Google Ads tracking, or cross-site behavioral tracking scripts.
- No Selling of Browsing Data: We never collect, package, or sell information about your browsing behavior to any third-party advertisers or data brokers.
3. Essential & Functional Storage Only
Any storage used on our website (fegopics.com / ScrollStrike) is strictly functional:
- Interface Preferences: Temporarily remembering basic interface states (such as whether an informational modal or preview was viewed).
- Code Redemption (
redeem.html): Temporarily maintaining session state while validating your purchase code to deliver your direct.zipdownload link.
4. Third-Party Platforms (Gumroad & AppSumo)
When you make a purchase or visit our partner platforms:
- Gumroad: Handles payments and checkout security using their own essential session cookies to manage your digital purchase securely.
- AppSumo: Manages redemption voucher delivery and account sessions under their own terms and privacy standards.
These external platforms manage their own cookies in accordance with their respective privacy and cookie guidelines.
5. How the ScrollStrike Plugin Uses Local Browser Memory
When you run ScrollStrike on your own WordPress site, you have full control over the Display Frequency feature (such as setting a highlighter to appear "only once per visitor"):
- To honor this setting, the plugin stores a tiny anonymous marker inside the visitor’s local browser (
localStorage). - This simply tells the visitor's browser: "This reader already saw this highlight once, so don't show it again."
- No personal data, IP addresses, or reading histories are collected or sent to FegoPics. Everything remains 100% self-hosted inside the reader's local browser and your own WordPress site.
6. How You Can Control or Clear Cookies
You have complete control over cookies on your devices. You can choose to block, limit, or delete cookies and local browser storage anytime through your browser settings (Chrome, Safari, Firefox, Edge, etc.).
